My Evaluation of Creating Emily’s Design
I feel
Emily communicated very well with her designs.
I felt comfortable in creating her design and I had practised a number
of times so I felt ready for the assessment.
I felt the make-up and hair design were both strong and fairly simple
for me to create and I was excited to give it a go. I was only worried about the amount of time I
had to create the hairstyle.
When
creating this design I was introduced to crimping and using padding. I had never done either of these techniques
before and was excited to try them out.
I also had to use foundation to block out the eyelashes and eyebrows
which I hadn’t done before either. I
found this hard as my model had quite dark hair, but I just layered on the
product a bit thicker.
If I
was to do this design again, I would define the lip liner as I feel mine wasn’t
perfect. I would do this by practising
more until I had mastered the technique.
I would also change the lipstick as the one I had to use was quite
dry. So I would choose a satin lipstick
which would glide on the lips better and leave a glossy finish.
Overall,
I think I did well at creating the design I was given and managed to complete
everything in the time frame. I think
this skill comes with practising many times to perfect the chosen skills.
